Horrible Teachers

This is in no way about Mrs. Chism.

I am so sick of teachers that are not worth a crap. There are certain teachers who do not answer their students. I will not name names although I should so that it can be a warning to not take their classes.

Well, I have sent a teacher of mine questions and he won't answer. I feel that this is wrong because I had a question on my work and he won't respond after several attempts. I feel that teachers who do this either have to much on their plates and should drop something so that they can do their job and help their students.

What bothers me most is that this semester I not only got one teacher like this but my wife got two teachers like this. I have watched her struggle all semester because she cannot get a response from her teacher. The only teacher she has this semester that will answer her questions is Mrs. Chism. I feel that this has hendered both her and my education. We are paying a lot of money to take classes and not have someone that will answer our questions. I do not know if any of you have ever had a teacher like this but it SUCKS!!!

It is hard enough to go to college after being out of school for 15 years, but then to not have teachers that respond to your questions, this makes what is already hard even harder.

Well best of luck to all. Have a good summer.

As for Mrs. Chism you have been a great teacher for both me and my wife, so Thank you!!!

Change

It is funny how people change over the years. Well some people anyway. I am 33 years old, and over the years I have watch the people that I went to school with change some for the better, some for the worse. I mean I grew up in Carthage, Mo and lets just say Carthage is or can be a very snobby town. With every school you have little clicks, you know like the cool kids and not so cool kids. I was some where in between. You know that kid that you've seen in the hall but never talked to.

I had a few friends in school, some where on one side and some that were on the other side. Then there where the kids who know me but never talked to me. You know them the ones that acted like they owned the world. Well it is funny how things sometimes work out in life. Even though there are those few that will always act like that, a lot of them will get a real strong dose of reality after school is over. They find out that there not rich or don't have the money they acted like they had.

Over the years I have seen the very same people who thought they were so much better them me, no better off then me or worse. Even though they treated me like I was invisible in school it is like they have been healed and can now see me. IT'S A MIRACLE!!! No just reality!

It would really be easy for me to just blow them off like they did tome when they talk to me, but I don't. I don't judge people for there past I understand that people can change and I don't want to lower my self to the level that they once were at. As for the people who are still out there that will never change, I will just say your loss!

Fate of 12-year-old killer?

Demarco Harris was convicted of murder by a jury in Detroit this week. Harris who is 13 was only 12 years old when he committed the murder. Trisha Babcock was sitting in her car when Harris tried to robber her, and shot her in the chest. Harris, who is sitting in a juvenile center, will be sentenced June, 1. A spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office would not comment on what they will be recommending, but the judge will have three options. He can sentence him as a juvenile, an adult, or both. Babcok's father said he would like to see the death penalty, Michigan does not have the death penalty.

What is this world coming to. When I was 12 I was more worried about get home to watch Scooby-doo or G.I. Joe. Now days we have to worry about our kids running around getting shot or in this case shooting someone else. Kids today are doing drugs and killing people, am I the only one that sees something wrong with this. I mean they want to talk about the war on terrorist hell lets take a good look around our cities. We need to stop and take control of our kids first.

Kids today are out of control! I can remember when I was a kid, and if I would of acted like the kids of today I wouldn't be here. Today we are not allowed to discipline our kids, and because of that kids today have no respect for anybody or anything. What a lot of these kids need is old fashion trip to the wood shed if you know what I mean. Yes I still believe in spankings, and if you think that is wrong then that is your right. I mean 20 years ago I bet at least 80 percent of us have had all been spanked as kids. We all survived and most of us turned out to be better people because of it. If kids don't learn that there is a price to pay for there actions then what is to stop them from going out and doing this very same thing.

It is time to put a stop to this nonsense. I mean I am not saying go out and bet your child. There is a difference between spanking and betting. If kids are this bad now what do you think it will be like for the next generation.

Money, Money, Money

Money makes the world go round. Well that is what some seem to think. It seems like there is never enough to go around is the biggest problem. No matter what I do it just seems like I have a big hole in my pocket. It never fails either the one time I have a few extra bucks the car brakes down or someone needs to go to doctor. Well easy come easy go, maybe not easy come.

Who was it that came up with the phrase, money doesn't buy happiness. Well that maybe true to a point, because money may not buy happiness but it sure helps. I think that the guy who said that must of never been broke. Trust me I can't ever think of a time when I had money and wasn't happy about it. I can't even tell you how many times I was broke and not happy.

The thing is money can be great and it can be evil. The second reason on the list of divorce is money. The number one spot surfing the Internet. Money there is never enough no matter how much you have. The crazy thing is the more you make the more you spend, so in reality it doesn't matter how much you have you never really have enough.

Nightmares and Vengeance: Movie Critic Roundup

Freddy is back, or is he? Jackie Earle Haley has take the role of Freddy Krueger in the new Nightmare on Elm Street. So how does Haley compare to Robert Englund, the original Freddy. Englund played Freddy in eight films and a TV series. According to Michael Rechtshaffen,of the Hollywood Reporter, there is no replacing Englund. Overall Rechtshaffen didn't like the movie. As for Roger Ebert, famous movie critic, he gave it only one star out of four. Bill Gibron from Filmcritic.com seemed to really like it, and gave it four out of five stars. All in all most of the critics didn't much care for the film.

Well I went back to school to become an engineer, but maybe I need to change my major. It looks to me that Hollywood needs some new writers. By all means I am no Wes Craven or Steven King, but come on. Is there no more imagination left out there. Did they run out of ideas in Hollywood or what. I mean every time you turn around there is another remake of an old movie. If all it takes is to take someone else's story and rewrite it to make millions, well then I'm get screwed. I have been doing that for the last two semester. There called blogs.

What I really hate is the fact that they take a good movie and ruin it. I mean there are just somethings you can't remake. I think the Freddy Krueger with Robert Englund is unreplaceable. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that the movie is bad, because I haven't seen it yet. It may very well be a good movie, but it will never be better then the original. I think that people need to start thinking out side the box and come up with some new stuff. I mean come on Batman is played out, give use a new super hero.

I feel that people are being lazy and just don't wait to come up with something new, because it is to easy to make a quick buck by changing someone else work and call it there own. Is that what this world is coming to, where we can't even think for ourselves anymore.

Relationships

Relationships can either be the greatest things ever or the worst thing ever. I personal have had both. Why is it men and woman are so different, but need each other so much. I don't care how much someone tells you they don't need the other, there full of it. I mean everybody wants somebody to love or to love them. Yet we take our partners for grant much to often. I think that is why people end in divorce so often.

People don't take relationships serious anymore. I mean to most people anymore, a marriage license is just a piece of paper. A marriage license is really a contract. Yes it is contract, to love, honor, and obey. I know some people don't like the last one, but it is true. The thing people don't understand is that to obey, is to obey your heart. You can read in to it however you want, but to me if you can't obey your vows then you are just going to be a statistic.

I also think that people watch to much TV!!! They expect love and relationships to work like all these love stories they watch on TV. Well guess what? They don't, it takes work from both side of the partnership. You have to give to receive. I mean if you don't give something into the relationship then you won't receive anything from the relationship. Thus ending the relationship and years of therapy!! Just kidding, well maybe for some people.

Just remember if you have someone or even if you don't right now, remember to tell them what they mean to you. Love them everyday like it was the first day, because like I said in a previous blog life sometimes happens. You just never know what tomorrow holds, and tomorrow might be too late.

Police: Man tortured 4-year-old to death for wetting his pants

Brandon Joshua-Frederick Hayes, 24, could spend the rest of his life in prison. Hayes tortured and beat Dominick Calhoun, 4, to death for wetting his pants. According to police, Hayes burnt the young boys knuckle and punched and kicked him. Calhoun was barley breathing when EMS arrived, and later was pronounced brain dead at the hospital. The police chief said that this was the worst case of child abuse he had ever seen. Hayes has been charged on nine different charges, just a few are one count of first-degree premeditated murder, one count of first-degree child abuse and one count of torture. This is not the first time that abuse had been reported at the home, but the Genesee County Department of Child Services were unreachable for comment. It is also unclear where the mother was during the assault the boy. It was known that the mother was there for part of the beating and did try to shelled her son.

What the !@#$$!!!!!! I mean stuff like this just ticks me off!!! I mean what is wrong with people. Who could beat and torture a 4 year old child. The boy had an accident, wait let me stop there. Even if the boy did it on purpose the actions from the boyfriend by far don't match the crime. This man didn't just do something uncalled for, he did something just down right evil. This poor boy has been a victim much like many kids around the world, and it is said that there are people like Hayes. I also believe that Hayes is not the only one at fault here. Where was the mother, or better yet how could she allow this to happen. I mean you can't tell me this was the first time Hayes had abused little Calhoun. Then there is Child Services. I mean there had been several reports made about abuse, but nothing was ever done.

There were several people at fault for this crime, and this poor little boy had to live out his last moments of his life in a living hell. What's even worse is that Hayes will be the only person punished for the crime. Even though there is no punishment that even comes close to what he deserves, but at least he won't be able to do this again. I don't feel that prison or even the death penalty is good enough for Hayes. He deserves the exact same thing he dished out.

Even though it doesn't seem fair that this poor innocent boy lost his life, at least now he is in a better place. I mean there are worse things then death, like living in hell like he did. I mean don't get me wrong this is all messed up, but as we all know that life just sometimes is cruel and unfair.

Life just happens

Have you ever had a plan and it just never happens the way you had planed. Well that just seems like that is the the way it always works out. My question is WHY!!! It just seems like there's a secret club out there that there only goal in life is to make sure that your plans never work out. Life can never just be simple. I have always been told that God will never give you more they you can handle. Well lets just say he has really push me to the edge sometimes.

My life has really had some major ups and downs in my short 33 years of life. Even though I have always managed to over come these problems, I always wonder why can't things just work out the way I planed. I am a simple person and I just want simple things, but the simples things can be the hardest thing to get.

Well not that I am trying make all of you listen to my complaints but sometimes it helps me to blow off some steam here rather then on someone who doesn't deserve it. Well no matter what seems to happen in your life just remember that things do get better. It isn't something you have done necessarily to deserve, Sometimes life just happens.

Note for family among W.Va. mine victims' stories

What a sad day for so many!! Josh Napper was a coal miner in Charleston, West Virgina. Napper was one of 25 men killed in a terrible mining accident. Napper had a feeling something was wrong at work, so he decided that he would write to his family be for going back to work. This would be Nappers last words he would ever say to his family ever again. Pam Napper, the mother of Josh, didn't find out about the letter until after her son had gone back to work. "I just knew that Josh in his heart knew that something was going to happen, "Pam Napper said Friday.

What a terrible story!! It is crazy that sometimes people know something is going to happen before it happens. It is to bad that this young man didn't listen to this feeling. Coal mining is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. If you have been following this story on the news there has been several things that just tick me off about the whole thing.

According to the news this very mine, that took the lives of these 25 men, was cited for safety violations that morning. This was not the first time either. My problem with all this is what is going to happen the owner of the mine. I mean if I go out and kill so one in a car wreck, because I was messing around I will most likely go to prison. Even though I didn't mean to kill the person I still have pay the price, because of my negligence's. That is my point the people of this mine knew that they where breaking rules, but they didn't care. Now 25 families have to pay the price of someone else's negligence's.

Well I guess life just isn't fair. That is all right, because people my get away with complete lack of respect in this life but someday we will all be judged. The question is what will be your sentence.

Tired of feeling sick

I am going to rant for a few minutes.

I am sick and tired of being sick. I started feeling sick on Thursday and cannot seem to get over whatever this is. It is awful. I have a sore throat, cough, funny feelings in my stomach.

Ever since I had surgery last year, I have been getting sick easier than ever before. When I had surgery last year, I got pneumonia. Ever since I have been sick about three times. It is horrible. Never in my life have I been as sick as I have been since that dumb surgery.

I guess I should explain a little. Last semester about a week or two into the semester I got kidney stones for the sixth time. Talk about painful. Well, this one was a big one, it got embedded and wasn't budging. So they did surgery to remove it and they also placed a stint in between my kidneys and bladder. Well I was released from the hospital the next day. I thought that the surgery would help to make the pain go away but I was wrong. The pain didn't stop for almost a month. Through the month of September I was almost permanently in bed.

The first week after the surgery I ended up getting a fever that I could not get down so I ended up back in the ER and low and behold I had gotten pneumonia from the surgery. I spent another night in the hospital so that they could give me IV antibiotics. This was basically how the month went.

Well now I have been sick twice since then and I am tired of it. I have never been sick this much. I used to get sick maybe once a year. Now I have met that and then some.

Well anyway there is my rant for the week.

Work Work Work

Well this is going to more of a B!@#*$ session then really a blog. I need to blow of some steam , so where better then hear. Work is the reason I am going to school, I am so sick of going day in and day out. The plan is to finish school so that i can have a career not a job. I get so sick of people all day long can I do this can I do that. Come on people make a decision for your self for once. I mean some people just need thier hands held on every little thing they do. Who ever decide that we need to work in the first place should be shoot.

I know it is something we have to do. It would be so bad if for one I had time to enjoy my money. I mean what money I have left after uncle sam and my wife get done. It is depressing to think that you have to get up and go to work for 40 to 50 years just so you can retire. Hell by the time I retire I am going to be to old to really enjoy my money. Well that is if I get to retire. They say that by the time I get to retirment age ther won't be any money left to retire on.

Well I got to say to that is my kids better get ready because here I come. I will just make them work and they can take care of me. Right!!!! I can't get my son to take care of him self let alone me. So the plan is to get rich early retire early and party later. Sounds good to me.

Prodigy, 13, claims age discrimination by UConn

This blog is about a 13 year old sophomore college student, at the University of Connecticut. Yes I said 13!!! Colin Carlson is 13 and is a sophomore in college. Colin feels that he is running out of time. Colin was rejected on his request to go to South Africa for a course he was taking. According to the school they say that he is too young to go. Colin has filed an age discrimination claim against the school. "I'm losing time in my four-year plan for college," he said. They're upsetting the framework of one of my majors." According to Colin's mother the school would not let him enroll, even after she told the school that they would be release of all liability and that she would take her son at her own expense. Colin said that by not allowing him to go he would have to change his whole thesis plan.

Okay, I have a couple of mixed feelings about this whole thing. I mean I understand that the school is concern about the boy's safety, but his mother is offering to go with him. I don't agree with the school, because they know his age and that he was planning on that this course. Why didn't they say something to him at the beginning. Really what does it matter anyway if it wasn't safe for him then why is it safe for the other students. I mean the kid is ten times smarter then the rest of the class and probably some of the teachers too.

I wonder what it must be like to have a life like him. What kind of pressure he must be under. I mean I know that he is smarter then most but how is this going to affect him later in life. I mean he has never been a kid. He finished high school at the age of 11. I really feel sorry for the kid, it is not good for him to have all these pressure on him a such a early age. I have heard that people like that can go one of two ways. They either continue to get smart or they go insane. Well I hope for this young man that he finds what makes him happy and gets to live a little as a kid.

Well with this be said I think that Colin needs to stop and think that he has a long time left to do what ever he wants. I also hoes that everything works out for him in the long run.

I Hate Stupid People

I really hate stupid people. I think that there are just some days when all the stupid people get together and decide to be extra stupid that day. Well I guess today is just one of those days. Maybe it has something to do with the moon or the way the planets are aligned or something like that I don't know for sure. I just know that there are a lot of stupid people out there today.

My first encounter with not necessarily stupid people, but definitely strange people, was at work. My boss thought it would be a good idea to take our group out for lunch. Well I think I learned a little more then I want to know about there personal lives, or the lack of. We sat around a table for an hour while they talk about dungeons and dragons. Wow!! I could of done with out that. After my so wonderful and educational lunch I went back to work. Once work was over I really found the stupid ones on the ride home. People I guess have decided that hurting home as fast as you can is the easiest way to not get home if you now what I mean. Then you have the 90 year old grandpa out on a Sunday drive on a Friday evening in the middle of rush hour. Well of course that really bring the stupid out in people. Passing the poor guy on hills and around curves, I mean I don't know about you but I can't see through or around hills. Well I finally make it home in one piece thank god, but of course that is not the end.

We all have to eat right? Wrong that is not what the people at Burger King think. I guess they decided that I didn't need my order of fries and left them out of my bag. Which I guess is a little stupid on my part, because I didn't check the order. The thing is that it does take a genius to read the screen and fill the bag I mean come on. I maybe wrong maybe it isn't stupidness ( I know this is not a word I am just trying to fit in today) maybe it is a marketing strategy. Maybe they just want to keep you making that loop around the building. I bet that works right.

Then there's the kids going skating at the local skating rink. Dropping off no problem, pick them up is like trying to drive your car thought demolition Derby. I mean you have 50 cars trying to all park in 3 spaces. Then once they get in that perfect parking spot it takes a act of congress to get out. I mean we park clear on the other side of the lot and walk to the door in a quarter of the time that it takes the rest to even get close to the front of the building. This still doesn't protect us from the stupid people. We still have to get out of the park. People in such a hurt to pick up there kids that they don't even drive on the right side of the road. I wonder if people even slow down enough to see if they got the right kids. I think they just grab the closest one and move on. I mean there is always next weekend to find the right one right.

Never the less I am home and away from the stupid people now. Now I think I will seat down and watch the news and see how many stupid people I missed today.

Lesbian Teen Speaks Out On Cancelled Prom

All dressed up and no where to go well not yet anyway. Senior Constance McMillen is a 18 year student at Itawamba County Agricultural High school. McMillen was all excited about going to prom this year, until it was canceled. McMillen informed her principle that she would like to bring her girlfriend as her date. The school board would never allow this. They say that it violates their policy against same-sex couples at the dance. McMillen then contacted the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), and they have filed papers with the courts to reinstate the prom. Even though the school says that is not the reason it was canceled. McMillen has had a very hard time dealing with the students at school, because they all blame her for the prom being canceled. Some students even told her that she ruined there senior year. McMillen says she has no regrets for asking to take her girlfriend to the prom. McMillen added that kids need to be true to themselves.

Come on people!!! I mean the girl just wants to go to the prom as her self. I mean yes she could of just not said anything and meant her girl friend there, but I think she is proud of who she is and that is great. The school says that is not why they canceled the prom, but who are they kidding. I mean it is obvious that they don't agree with it or they wouldn't have a policy about same sex couples at a dance. Which is stupid anyway!!! I mean you go to school and they tell you that you can be or do anything you want, but don't lie, steel, cheat, or be gay. Then there's the students that are mad at her, because she ruined their senior year. That is not right!! I mean she didn't cancel the prom the school did. The school needs to wake up, the world is changing and they need to get with program. Being gay is not a choice it something you are born with. I know there are people out there that will disagree with me, but that's okay that is there right.

McMillen is in the right in my eyes. People should be who they are, and live there lives that way. Why should people hide the fact that they are gay. I mean I have a very good friend who is gay and he hide the fact for many years. He feared that people would judge him for it, and he was right some did. Did it change who he was as a person, of course not. It made his life hell!!

Gay or straight, black or white when is the world going to wake up and realize that it is not the persons color, religion, or sexual preference that makes them who they are. It is what is in there heart that makes them good or bad.

Drugs

No not that kind of drugs I'm sure the title caught some of your eyes. I am talking about the drugs you get from the doctor. Have you ever watched the TV and really listened the the side affects of the drugs. I mean some of the side affects are worse then the sickness you have. Which makes me wonder is it really safe to take the drugs in the first place. They will say something like could cause death, but only in like one or two percent of the people who use it. Well what if you are in that one or two percent? I mean if you have a broken toe or something similar and you take a pain pill and die I think I will just deal with the pain.

I mean don't get me wrong I realize that drugs do great things for people, but I real don't think they test some of these thinks long enough before they release them to the public. How my times have you seen this brand new miracle drug out and then six months later you see a lawyer on TV saying if you have taking this drug....... You get the rest of that. I mean it is scary to think that you are trying try to get better and you end up sicker, because some yahoo push this miracle cure through with out testing it right to make a buck.

Then there's other problems like addiction. I mean there are a lot of drugs out there that you can take that are not habit forming, but the doctors keep giving out the bad ones like there candy. Why? People think of drug dealers as some guy sitting on a street corner dealing drugs. When there actually wearing white coats as well. I know not all doctors are like that but there some that are.

Just keep in mind the next time you get sick what am I putting in my body and is it going to make better or worse.

California City Worker Volunteers for Layoff to Save Colleague's Job

Sharon Singleton was one of 11 employees that was layoff from her job at the city of Lathrop, California. Patricia Overy, who also works for the city of Lathrop and was not laid off, was thinking of giving up her job to save someone else's job. Overy, a mother of four went home to talk to her husband about leaving her job. They both sat down and talk about there finances, and decided that she should give up here job to save someone else. Overy then went to work and asked her boss that she be laid off. Overy also felt that she would have a easier time reentering the work force then some of her other coworkers who were older. Singleton, after two days of being laid off was called back to work and was told of the sacrifice that Overy had made. Singleton was in shock to here that one of her coworkers had done such a thing. Overy is happy that she will be able to spend a little more time with her kids. She says things might get a little tight for a while but things will be fine.

Wow!!! What a kind action on Overy's part. I mean how many people out there would do that for anybody. I mean most people would just say how sorry they feel for the person and might even try and give them some advice. I can't think of anybody I know that would give up there job for someone else. This helps my confidence in the kindness of man kind a little. To know that there are still truly good people out there that are willing to do something for someone else with out gaining something in return. It is to bad that there aren't more people like Overy out there. I mean I know that there out there but there so few and far in between.

I also made a small sacrifice to try and help my coworkers out just a couple of weeks ago. We were told at work that the company wanted everybody that could to take two days off for the month of February and March. Well this didn't set well with a lot of people because they just could not afford it. The deal was if everybody did this then the company would save some money, but if not enough people did it then they would have to layoff everybody for a whole week. So what I did was I decided that since I had some money saved up I would take off for two weeks. I know that it wasn't as big as Overy but I felt that this would help a few people who could not afford to take the time off.

I think that if there were more people out there that were willing to help people like Overy that this world would be a much better place. I also think that God will reward Overy for her sacrifices in the future for her unselfish actions.

Bad additudes

I seems like everywhere you go everybody has such a bad attitude. You can't watch TV or read the paper, because it is always so negative. What ever happened to the glass is half full. I mean yes times are hard but that is no excuse. I mean I hate when people say if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't any luck. People need to look at the positive and not the negative so much. I mean I know that thing don't always go the way you want, but a lot of it is your out look on it. If you think it isn't going to happen then your right it probably isn't.

People need to speak what they want. Will it work 100% of the time of course not, but I will speak from personally experience that it does work. I mean if you are going to run five miles for the first time and you keep saying that there is no way I can do this. Well then chances are that you probably won't, but if you just keep saying I can do this then you have a much greater chance of finishing. I guess I am not perfect and sometimes have a bad day too. The thing is that I always try to stay positive.

People with bad attitudes seem to always want to drag everybody around them down with them. What is it they say misery loves company. Well that is company I don't need, so keep on walking. Well I guess this is one of those bad days, it just seems like everybody I was around to day had a very bad attitude today. I would like to ask everybody that reads this to go out and say something positive to someone with a bad attitude. Maybe it will bring a bright er day to you or somebody else.

IOC to investigate Canadian women's hockey team for celebration

An investigation is going on against the Canadian women's hockey team, due to there behavior after winning gold against the U.S.. The Canadian team celebrated there win by swigging beer and smoking cigars while still on the ice Thursday at Vancouver. Gilbert Felli, the IOC's executive director of the Olympic Games, said that drinking in public was "not what we want to see" from athletes at an Olympic venue. According to Felli they will be investigating the actions of the hockey team and will request action from the international hockey federation and Canadian Olympic Committee. A spokesman for the Canadian Olympic Committee, Steve Keough, said the they condone celebrations, but not actions of irresponsibility. Hockey Canada did release an apology for the conduct of there players.

This is crazy I mean, high fives or yell and shouting to celebrate is one thing. I think what the Canadian team did was just bad sportsman ship and in bad taste. According to the article the writer doesn't feel that the girls should be punished but not be kicked out of the Olympics. I disagree, I think that for one they were breaking the law by underage drinking and smoking. For two I think they should be disqualified just for bad sportsman ship alone. Personally if I was Canada I would be very embarrassed. I mean they are representing there country and this how they do it.

I don't think they were really doing it because it is just a bad habit they have and like to do it. I feel it was just to rub it in the faces of the U.S.. Which like I said is just bad sportsman ship and I think that they should be kick out of the Olympics. I mean it is like my kid playing on his soccer team, if he were to go out and make a goal and then go over just rub it in the other teams face like there's no tomorrow I would be so upset with him. I would pull him out of the game and that would be the end of that.

When are people going to realize that when you do stupid stuff like that that there are kids watching. I mean kids are like sponges and they see stuff like that and think it is okay. What ever happen to playing a game and win or lose you all line up and tell the other team good game.

Tiger Woods Shut Up

I wish the news would just shut up about Tiger Woods. I mean sure Tiger messed up I will agree with that, but that is nobodies business but his and his wives. I mean I didn't see or hear his speech on TV the other day, nor did I want to. I don't even know what he said, but I will say that I don't think he needed to get on national TV to explain or apologize to the people. I think again that it is between him and his wife. What is wrong with people? People say how bad of a person he is for what he did, but what I think is worse are the people who thrive off all the junk they read in the tabloids. People get off from other peoples misery, and I think that is wrong.

What is really bad is that Tigers wife can't get away from it. She can't watch TV, read a paper, or even go into public. The main reason is people can't get enough of the gossip, so the papers and reporters keep putting it out there. I mean a perfect stranger can go out and murder twenty people, and he won't get as much attention as a celebrity that screws around on his wife. I feel sorry for Tigers wife not only because of being cheated on, but because people won't leave them be.

Okay Tiger did wrong and he messed up. I do think that Tiger should have to pay the consequences for his actions, but I don't think that we should be the ones who passes judgement on him. We are all just people and most all of us have skeletons in our closets. I mean he has to face his judgement day in his future, so I think that we should just stay out of there lives and let them figure out what they need to do.

Freedom looks good for Greg Taylor

Greg Taylor was sentenced to 16 years in prison for the murder of Jacquetta Thomas back 1991. The N.C. Innocence Inquiry Commission asked for Taylor's case be reviewed by a three-judge panel. The three judges found him innocence of all charges and released Taylor. Taylor made the most of the time he spent in prison. Taylor read 833 books since 1994 and 2000, he lifted weights, and went to school all while in prison. The best thing that Taylor learned while in prison was sobriety. Taylor said after 9 years he no long has the craving for the drugs he was once addicted to.

What a crock of bull. I mean this poor guy my have got in shape and got an education, but at what price. He has missed his kids growing up. I mean they in the past decade times have really changed, and now he has to figure out how to live all over again. I think what really gets under my skin is that they gave him $45 dollars to get a new start. What the !@#$!!!! I mean $45 dollars wouldn't even buy him a new set of cloths.

I mean I am sure that he is so happy to be out of prison. I would be too, but I think after all the newness wares off I would be pissed!!! I me this man set in prison for 16 years for something he didn't do. I think that the state owes him more then $45 dollars and a oh sorry we made a mistake. I think that they owe this me some kind of compensation for the time he has been away from his family.

It is scary to think that at any given time you could be arrested for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. People are all the time be put in prison for crimes they didn't do. What is even scarier is what about the people who are executed. I mean you can't retry there cases and let them go.

Despite the Threat of Harsh Punishment, Soldier Says "No" to Deployment in Afghanistan

Blake Ivey says that war is the crime of our times. Ivey is 21 and is a specialist in the U.S. Army an is refusing to deploy to Afghanistan. Ivey, who is stationed in Ft. Gordon, is determined not to deploy and has joined a large group of troops who have refused to go. Ivey joined the Army 2005 after 9-11 and said that it is time for his generation to defend the country. Ivey time in boot camp soon made him realize the he didn't share the same views as the Army. Ivey could be charged with article 87 and 90, which are missing movement and willfully disobeying superior officer. These charges could land him in the stockade for up to two years. Ivey could also lose his pay and be dishonorable discharge.

What is wrong with this boy? I mean come on what did he think they did in war, just stand around and call each other bad names. Killing is part of war and if he didn't want to go to war then he shouldn't joined. I mean don't get me wrong I don't always agree with war, but I do know that killing is part of it. What I don't agree with is the Ivey braking the law of the military. If he realized that war wasn't something he could do then he should of gotten out in boot camp. Now days if you really want out you can get out,but Ivey choose to continue his Army career, so he should be held responsible for his actions.

I mean don't get me wrong they should not send him over seas. One reason is that a soldier like that will get others killed. The second reason is that people like Ivey are just looking for an excuse to not go. I mean nobody wants to go to war, well the san ones anyway, but you know that by signing up in the military that it is a possibly.

With that being said I don't want to go in to the politics of the war and what I think, that is a different story and day. I think that to many people sign up with the military for the wrong reasons, and don't think enough into it.

Public People

I decided to take my wife out to dinner and then to the circus for Valentine's day. Well we had an okay time, but it amazes me how crazy people real are. I mean we first stopped at Garfield's to get something to eat. We went in the front door and hostess was there. She asked us smoking or nonsmoking. I told her I wanted smoking. She then showed us to our table and seated us. Not one time did she smile, say have a good night or nothing. We sat at our table waiting for our waitress and wait and wait and wait. Finally after about 15 minutes of waiting she comes to our table and gets our order. At least she smiled and was friendly. My wife and I set waiting and watching the Daytona 500 on the big screen TV. The next event was the most shocking event of the whole night. As we sat there an older woman from another table had gotten up and was headed towards the bathroom. She didn't notice the step down that was in front of her and fell to the floor. I seen it right when it happened, and started to get up, when her daughter and grandson went to help her. The shocking thing was that right after the woman fell and her daughter was trying to help her, a waitress actually stopped and walk around the two and never said a word. The bar tinder who was less then four feet away turned and acted like nothing ever happened. The woman did get up and continued onto the bathroom and then returned to her table.

What in the world is wrong with people now days. There is no common curtsy anymore. I mean the poor woman could of really gotten hurt. It seemed like nobody, except me and her family, even cared. Personally if it would of been my mother in that restaurant that fell ,and nobody like one of the staff would came to help or at least ask to help I would raised all kinds of hell. I mean it is not uncommon to put up with rude hostess or bad waitresses, but to just ignore somebody how could be hurt and is helpless, well that is exceptable.

I think this world really needs to take a step back and look at it's self. I never knew that it was this bad until to night. It is all about themselves now days and nobody cares about other people. I mean it!!! The next time you are out somewhere do something really nice for a stranger for no reason. Then stop and look at them they my say thank you, but the look on there face will be of surprise or even shock. I hope that this isn't the future that we headed for, because if it is then we are all in a lot of trouble.

Some times it can be hard being a friend

Some times it can be hard being a friend. I a have friend, one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I became friends with Sam about four years back. We meant at a machine shop where we both worked. Sam had asked if I could give him a ride to the liquor store to cash his check. I told him sure. It was late evening and the banks where closed. We had both went in and cashed our checks at the same time, same place, but different cashiers. We got our money and head back to work. On the ride back Sam was counting his money and realize that the cashier had over paid him one hundred dollars. Well as we were sitting around after we got back Sam was telling some other people about his good luck I thought to my self well maybe I had better count my money. I started count and as luck would have it I had been shorted one hundred dollars. Now remember we had gone to two different people to cash our checks, so its not like they made a mistake and gave Sam my money. It was just one of those crazy things that happened. Well of course I was very upset because I couldn't pay my bills now. I didn't know what I was going to do. Sam out of the kindness of his heart came back to my machine just a few minutes later and handed me the hundred dollars. I hadn't even real known this guy for more then a couple of weeks and here he is giving me a hundred dollars.

Well after that day we became really good friends. The thing is Sam has a lot of problems in his life. Over the years he has gotten in to a lot of trouble. Sam has been arrested a number of times, put on probation for 5 years, and been in and out of rehab. The most recent trouble he gotten into is gambling. I mean I have tried to help Sam in anyway I can think of, I just don't know if I can keep helping him. In a way I feel sorry for him. Sam has no family and not too many good friends. I mean don't get me wrong he has nobody to blame but him self for his trouble, but he is a good friend and I hate that he can't get straightened up. Sam is one of those people that just gets into trouble know matter what he does. The guy just can't catch a break.

I mean don't get me wrong I know Sam and how he is and I know what most of you are thinking. Sam is a good guy he has never borrowed money or asked me to do anything to get me in trouble. I try to be a good friend, but it does get old at times when he is drunk or spun out on drugs. That is why I say, it can be hard bring a friend.

.14-year-old confirmed as UK's youngest WWII death

Reginald Earnshaw is the youngest know British soldier to have died in World War II. Ling about his age at 14 years, Earnshaw never got to see his 15th birthday. What would of been his 82th birthday Earnshaw has been acknowledged as the youngest British soldier to have died in World War II. Earnshaw died July 6, 1941 off the coast of England, when the ship SS Devon was attacked by German planes. Earnshaw was not recognized as the youngest British soldier, because officials did not have any proof of his real age. As a Merchant Navy cabin boy at the time of his death, Earnshaw had lied about his age after leaving school. Pauline Harvey, Earnshaw's younger sister, came forward with the proof of her brothers age after the war graves commission had made a nationwide appeal for information about Earnshaw. Earnshaw laid in an unmarked grave for many years in Edinburgh until Alf Tubb tried to find out what had happened to has shipmate. Tubb discovered that the war grave commission had placed a permanent granite headstone on Earnshaw's grave just last summer.

What a very sad story. It is so sad that a boy of that age never real got to grow up and live his life. It is sad anytime that a soldier get killed in war, but I could never imagine what it must of been like at 14. I mean at 14 even back in those days a 14 year old boy shouldn't of had a care in the world. Instead this young boy was going off to war. I guess that just goes to show the values that have changed in the last 50 years. I mean my son is 12 and the only thing he cares about is the TV or his PlayStation.

There are a few questions that come to mind about the whole thing. One is where were his parents and how could they let him just go off to join the navy. I mean 15 or 14 there is know way I would let my son join the military. The second question is if Earnshaw was placed in a grave then why did it take nearly 70 years before they finally gave him a grave stone. It makes me wonder if the government didn't place a head stone on his grave, because then they would have to admit that they had made a mistake and let another 14 year old boy in the military. It is a shame that Earnshaws family had gone all these years with out even knowing where he was buried.

Well I guess a least now Earnshaw can be honored by his family.

Young and Immature

Young and immature, I guess we were all that way at one time. Some were more immature then others, but still we were all that way at one time. Well I say we were all that way at one time, but I guess some people are still that way. You know what I mean! Some people just never grow up. Some people like my nephew!

I was talking to my sister earlier today and she was tell me about her son Levi. Levi is eighteen and as most teenagers knows everything. Levi finished school just last year and decided to join the Army. Which was great!!! Everybody was excited for him, well except his mother of course. That was just because of the war over seas, other then that she was very proud of him. Levi left for boot camp not to long after he got out of school. Was gone for some time and a week before he was to graduate he was discharged for medical. Levi came very upset and disappointed. Never the less he wasn't about to give up. He went to the doctor and got a clean bill of heath and is planning on reenlisting next month.

I know you are thinking okay so what is so immature about that right. Well that is just the introduction to Levi. The truth is since Levi got back from the Army he has explored his new found adulthood. Since Levi has been back he has partied, partied, partied!!!!! Well that has not sat well with his mother. You see they live on a working farm, and anybody who has worked on a working farm knows what that means. WORK!!! You work from sunrise to sunset. Well since Levi parties so much it makes it really hard for him to get out of bed. It also does help that Levi has turn eighteen and feels that he doesn't have to do any work. Well my sister and her husband don't have that same feeling. Levi binge drinks almost every night with his friends, and as a result of that he is not the nicest person to wake up at NOON!!!

Levi has yelled, screamed, horrible things at his mom. Things that I can not repeat. My sister has had a very hard time with dealing with all this and does not know what to do. He has moved out several times since he came back from the army, but he always sobers up and asks to come home. Then the whole thing began again.

I told her that if he doesn't go back into the army, then I would give him a real dose of reality. I told her when he calls to come home I would say no. I mean I know it sounds harsh, but he will never grow up if he knows she will always bail he out.

School system in Va. won't teach version of Anne Frank book

The Culpeper County public school has decided to stop assigning the new copy of Anne Frank's diary. It seems that there were several complains made by parents of sexually explicit material and homosexual themes. According to James Allen, director of instruction, the new 50th edition of the book will no longer be assigned to the students. Allen said that the school will keep a copy of the new book in the library, but they will assign the old edition to the students . Culpeper's policy is that parents are to submit the complaint in writing. In this case the parents verbally complained so nothing was done. According to Angela Maycock, assistant director of the office intellectual freedom, "Something that one individual finds controversial or offensive or objectionable may be really valuable to other learners in that community." There has been six challenges to "The Diary of Anne Frank," by the ALA. The Alabama textbook committee says that the book is a real downer and wants it rejected from the schools .

Well my first opinion about this is that anything that is sexual explicit should not be in the school system. I mean personal I have not read the book, and I don't think that I would really have much of a problem with my kid reading it. The thing is that I do know of other people that would have major problems with it. I don't feel that it should be up to any school board to decide what is okay or not okay in some areas. I mean if it has to do with a sexual matter then it should be in health class where you have to get written permission from the parents. I mean I get where the schools are coming from, because it is a part of history and the story should be heard. Even though I really don't agree with the complaining parents, I do understand where they are coming from. Some parents don't want there children to be exposed to that kind of explicit nature.

My second opinion about what the Alabama textbook committee said about the book being a real downer. Are you kidding me? I mean come on!! It is about a book of a little girl's life that was destroyed and turn upside down. This was a horrible horrible even that happened during World War II. What were they expecting? I mean weather it was a downer or not it is part of history and kids need to know about it. They need to know that life can change at anytime and that life is not always rainbows flowers and good times. They need to know that some times bad things happen to good people.

Well these were my opinions about the article. Even though I don't agree with everything that was said or done. I can understand there sides of the story.
