Demarco Harris was convicted of murder by a jury in Detroit this week. Harris who is 13 was only 12 years old when he committed the murder. Trisha Babcock was sitting in her car when Harris tried to robber her, and shot her in the chest. Harris, who is sitting in a juvenile center, will be sentenced June, 1. A spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office would not comment on what they will be recommending, but the judge will have three options. He can sentence him as a juvenile, an adult, or both. Babcok's father said he would like to see the death penalty, Michigan does not have the death penalty.
What is this world coming to. When I was 12 I was more worried about get home to watch Scooby-doo or G.I. Joe. Now days we have to worry about our kids running around getting shot or in this case shooting someone else. Kids today are doing drugs and killing people, am I the only one that sees something wrong with this. I mean they want to talk about the war on terrorist hell lets take a good look around our cities. We need to stop and take control of our kids first.
Kids today are out of control! I can remember when I was a kid, and if I would of acted like the kids of today I wouldn't be here. Today we are not allowed to discipline our kids, and because of that kids today have no respect for anybody or anything. What a lot of these kids need is old fashion trip to the wood shed if you know what I mean. Yes I still believe in spankings, and if you think that is wrong then that is your right. I mean 20 years ago I bet at least 80 percent of us have had all been spanked as kids. We all survived and most of us turned out to be better people because of it. If kids don't learn that there is a price to pay for there actions then what is to stop them from going out and doing this very same thing.
It is time to put a stop to this nonsense. I mean I am not saying go out and bet your child. There is a difference between spanking and betting. If kids are this bad now what do you think it will be like for the next generation.
