Bad additudes

I seems like everywhere you go everybody has such a bad attitude. You can't watch TV or read the paper, because it is always so negative. What ever happened to the glass is half full. I mean yes times are hard but that is no excuse. I mean I hate when people say if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't any luck. People need to look at the positive and not the negative so much. I mean I know that thing don't always go the way you want, but a lot of it is your out look on it. If you think it isn't going to happen then your right it probably isn't.

People need to speak what they want. Will it work 100% of the time of course not, but I will speak from personally experience that it does work. I mean if you are going to run five miles for the first time and you keep saying that there is no way I can do this. Well then chances are that you probably won't, but if you just keep saying I can do this then you have a much greater chance of finishing. I guess I am not perfect and sometimes have a bad day too. The thing is that I always try to stay positive.

People with bad attitudes seem to always want to drag everybody around them down with them. What is it they say misery loves company. Well that is company I don't need, so keep on walking. Well I guess this is one of those bad days, it just seems like everybody I was around to day had a very bad attitude today. I would like to ask everybody that reads this to go out and say something positive to someone with a bad attitude. Maybe it will bring a bright er day to you or somebody else.

IOC to investigate Canadian women's hockey team for celebration

An investigation is going on against the Canadian women's hockey team, due to there behavior after winning gold against the U.S.. The Canadian team celebrated there win by swigging beer and smoking cigars while still on the ice Thursday at Vancouver. Gilbert Felli, the IOC's executive director of the Olympic Games, said that drinking in public was "not what we want to see" from athletes at an Olympic venue. According to Felli they will be investigating the actions of the hockey team and will request action from the international hockey federation and Canadian Olympic Committee. A spokesman for the Canadian Olympic Committee, Steve Keough, said the they condone celebrations, but not actions of irresponsibility. Hockey Canada did release an apology for the conduct of there players.

This is crazy I mean, high fives or yell and shouting to celebrate is one thing. I think what the Canadian team did was just bad sportsman ship and in bad taste. According to the article the writer doesn't feel that the girls should be punished but not be kicked out of the Olympics. I disagree, I think that for one they were breaking the law by underage drinking and smoking. For two I think they should be disqualified just for bad sportsman ship alone. Personally if I was Canada I would be very embarrassed. I mean they are representing there country and this how they do it.

I don't think they were really doing it because it is just a bad habit they have and like to do it. I feel it was just to rub it in the faces of the U.S.. Which like I said is just bad sportsman ship and I think that they should be kick out of the Olympics. I mean it is like my kid playing on his soccer team, if he were to go out and make a goal and then go over just rub it in the other teams face like there's no tomorrow I would be so upset with him. I would pull him out of the game and that would be the end of that.

When are people going to realize that when you do stupid stuff like that that there are kids watching. I mean kids are like sponges and they see stuff like that and think it is okay. What ever happen to playing a game and win or lose you all line up and tell the other team good game.

Tiger Woods Shut Up

I wish the news would just shut up about Tiger Woods. I mean sure Tiger messed up I will agree with that, but that is nobodies business but his and his wives. I mean I didn't see or hear his speech on TV the other day, nor did I want to. I don't even know what he said, but I will say that I don't think he needed to get on national TV to explain or apologize to the people. I think again that it is between him and his wife. What is wrong with people? People say how bad of a person he is for what he did, but what I think is worse are the people who thrive off all the junk they read in the tabloids. People get off from other peoples misery, and I think that is wrong.

What is really bad is that Tigers wife can't get away from it. She can't watch TV, read a paper, or even go into public. The main reason is people can't get enough of the gossip, so the papers and reporters keep putting it out there. I mean a perfect stranger can go out and murder twenty people, and he won't get as much attention as a celebrity that screws around on his wife. I feel sorry for Tigers wife not only because of being cheated on, but because people won't leave them be.

Okay Tiger did wrong and he messed up. I do think that Tiger should have to pay the consequences for his actions, but I don't think that we should be the ones who passes judgement on him. We are all just people and most all of us have skeletons in our closets. I mean he has to face his judgement day in his future, so I think that we should just stay out of there lives and let them figure out what they need to do.

Freedom looks good for Greg Taylor

Greg Taylor was sentenced to 16 years in prison for the murder of Jacquetta Thomas back 1991. The N.C. Innocence Inquiry Commission asked for Taylor's case be reviewed by a three-judge panel. The three judges found him innocence of all charges and released Taylor. Taylor made the most of the time he spent in prison. Taylor read 833 books since 1994 and 2000, he lifted weights, and went to school all while in prison. The best thing that Taylor learned while in prison was sobriety. Taylor said after 9 years he no long has the craving for the drugs he was once addicted to.

What a crock of bull. I mean this poor guy my have got in shape and got an education, but at what price. He has missed his kids growing up. I mean they in the past decade times have really changed, and now he has to figure out how to live all over again. I think what really gets under my skin is that they gave him $45 dollars to get a new start. What the !@#$!!!! I mean $45 dollars wouldn't even buy him a new set of cloths.

I mean I am sure that he is so happy to be out of prison. I would be too, but I think after all the newness wares off I would be pissed!!! I me this man set in prison for 16 years for something he didn't do. I think that the state owes him more then $45 dollars and a oh sorry we made a mistake. I think that they owe this me some kind of compensation for the time he has been away from his family.

It is scary to think that at any given time you could be arrested for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. People are all the time be put in prison for crimes they didn't do. What is even scarier is what about the people who are executed. I mean you can't retry there cases and let them go.

Despite the Threat of Harsh Punishment, Soldier Says "No" to Deployment in Afghanistan

Blake Ivey says that war is the crime of our times. Ivey is 21 and is a specialist in the U.S. Army an is refusing to deploy to Afghanistan. Ivey, who is stationed in Ft. Gordon, is determined not to deploy and has joined a large group of troops who have refused to go. Ivey joined the Army 2005 after 9-11 and said that it is time for his generation to defend the country. Ivey time in boot camp soon made him realize the he didn't share the same views as the Army. Ivey could be charged with article 87 and 90, which are missing movement and willfully disobeying superior officer. These charges could land him in the stockade for up to two years. Ivey could also lose his pay and be dishonorable discharge.

What is wrong with this boy? I mean come on what did he think they did in war, just stand around and call each other bad names. Killing is part of war and if he didn't want to go to war then he shouldn't joined. I mean don't get me wrong I don't always agree with war, but I do know that killing is part of it. What I don't agree with is the Ivey braking the law of the military. If he realized that war wasn't something he could do then he should of gotten out in boot camp. Now days if you really want out you can get out,but Ivey choose to continue his Army career, so he should be held responsible for his actions.

I mean don't get me wrong they should not send him over seas. One reason is that a soldier like that will get others killed. The second reason is that people like Ivey are just looking for an excuse to not go. I mean nobody wants to go to war, well the san ones anyway, but you know that by signing up in the military that it is a possibly.

With that being said I don't want to go in to the politics of the war and what I think, that is a different story and day. I think that to many people sign up with the military for the wrong reasons, and don't think enough into it.

Public People

I decided to take my wife out to dinner and then to the circus for Valentine's day. Well we had an okay time, but it amazes me how crazy people real are. I mean we first stopped at Garfield's to get something to eat. We went in the front door and hostess was there. She asked us smoking or nonsmoking. I told her I wanted smoking. She then showed us to our table and seated us. Not one time did she smile, say have a good night or nothing. We sat at our table waiting for our waitress and wait and wait and wait. Finally after about 15 minutes of waiting she comes to our table and gets our order. At least she smiled and was friendly. My wife and I set waiting and watching the Daytona 500 on the big screen TV. The next event was the most shocking event of the whole night. As we sat there an older woman from another table had gotten up and was headed towards the bathroom. She didn't notice the step down that was in front of her and fell to the floor. I seen it right when it happened, and started to get up, when her daughter and grandson went to help her. The shocking thing was that right after the woman fell and her daughter was trying to help her, a waitress actually stopped and walk around the two and never said a word. The bar tinder who was less then four feet away turned and acted like nothing ever happened. The woman did get up and continued onto the bathroom and then returned to her table.

What in the world is wrong with people now days. There is no common curtsy anymore. I mean the poor woman could of really gotten hurt. It seemed like nobody, except me and her family, even cared. Personally if it would of been my mother in that restaurant that fell ,and nobody like one of the staff would came to help or at least ask to help I would raised all kinds of hell. I mean it is not uncommon to put up with rude hostess or bad waitresses, but to just ignore somebody how could be hurt and is helpless, well that is exceptable.

I think this world really needs to take a step back and look at it's self. I never knew that it was this bad until to night. It is all about themselves now days and nobody cares about other people. I mean it!!! The next time you are out somewhere do something really nice for a stranger for no reason. Then stop and look at them they my say thank you, but the look on there face will be of surprise or even shock. I hope that this isn't the future that we headed for, because if it is then we are all in a lot of trouble.

Some times it can be hard being a friend

Some times it can be hard being a friend. I a have friend, one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. I became friends with Sam about four years back. We meant at a machine shop where we both worked. Sam had asked if I could give him a ride to the liquor store to cash his check. I told him sure. It was late evening and the banks where closed. We had both went in and cashed our checks at the same time, same place, but different cashiers. We got our money and head back to work. On the ride back Sam was counting his money and realize that the cashier had over paid him one hundred dollars. Well as we were sitting around after we got back Sam was telling some other people about his good luck I thought to my self well maybe I had better count my money. I started count and as luck would have it I had been shorted one hundred dollars. Now remember we had gone to two different people to cash our checks, so its not like they made a mistake and gave Sam my money. It was just one of those crazy things that happened. Well of course I was very upset because I couldn't pay my bills now. I didn't know what I was going to do. Sam out of the kindness of his heart came back to my machine just a few minutes later and handed me the hundred dollars. I hadn't even real known this guy for more then a couple of weeks and here he is giving me a hundred dollars.

Well after that day we became really good friends. The thing is Sam has a lot of problems in his life. Over the years he has gotten in to a lot of trouble. Sam has been arrested a number of times, put on probation for 5 years, and been in and out of rehab. The most recent trouble he gotten into is gambling. I mean I have tried to help Sam in anyway I can think of, I just don't know if I can keep helping him. In a way I feel sorry for him. Sam has no family and not too many good friends. I mean don't get me wrong he has nobody to blame but him self for his trouble, but he is a good friend and I hate that he can't get straightened up. Sam is one of those people that just gets into trouble know matter what he does. The guy just can't catch a break.

I mean don't get me wrong I know Sam and how he is and I know what most of you are thinking. Sam is a good guy he has never borrowed money or asked me to do anything to get me in trouble. I try to be a good friend, but it does get old at times when he is drunk or spun out on drugs. That is why I say, it can be hard bring a friend.

.14-year-old confirmed as UK's youngest WWII death

Reginald Earnshaw is the youngest know British soldier to have died in World War II. Ling about his age at 14 years, Earnshaw never got to see his 15th birthday. What would of been his 82th birthday Earnshaw has been acknowledged as the youngest British soldier to have died in World War II. Earnshaw died July 6, 1941 off the coast of England, when the ship SS Devon was attacked by German planes. Earnshaw was not recognized as the youngest British soldier, because officials did not have any proof of his real age. As a Merchant Navy cabin boy at the time of his death, Earnshaw had lied about his age after leaving school. Pauline Harvey, Earnshaw's younger sister, came forward with the proof of her brothers age after the war graves commission had made a nationwide appeal for information about Earnshaw. Earnshaw laid in an unmarked grave for many years in Edinburgh until Alf Tubb tried to find out what had happened to has shipmate. Tubb discovered that the war grave commission had placed a permanent granite headstone on Earnshaw's grave just last summer.

What a very sad story. It is so sad that a boy of that age never real got to grow up and live his life. It is sad anytime that a soldier get killed in war, but I could never imagine what it must of been like at 14. I mean at 14 even back in those days a 14 year old boy shouldn't of had a care in the world. Instead this young boy was going off to war. I guess that just goes to show the values that have changed in the last 50 years. I mean my son is 12 and the only thing he cares about is the TV or his PlayStation.

There are a few questions that come to mind about the whole thing. One is where were his parents and how could they let him just go off to join the navy. I mean 15 or 14 there is know way I would let my son join the military. The second question is if Earnshaw was placed in a grave then why did it take nearly 70 years before they finally gave him a grave stone. It makes me wonder if the government didn't place a head stone on his grave, because then they would have to admit that they had made a mistake and let another 14 year old boy in the military. It is a shame that Earnshaws family had gone all these years with out even knowing where he was buried.

Well I guess a least now Earnshaw can be honored by his family.
